I have been a portrait artist for many years and have lots of ideas for the children but I was wondering how many i am allowed to have in the group at any one time and whether I need to pass additional exams as I will be in charge of children – Can anyone help?

Kids mised picture day this year, and the woman wants to take portrait like pictures. Not certain how to tkae really good pictures at all, so I thought I would ask you Thanks for any and all comments.

any tips on taking sharp photos of a child standing still using a canon eos 40d with a 28-135mm lens (out doors) .I dont understand 2.8f is this the type of the lens or is it a setting on
the camera. Just got this camera as a present. Also would love to know if I set the camera to automatic focus does it automatically set the white balance to suit the out door lighting.
I would be so grateful if you could help me on this
I took some portrait shots outside of this child already but no matter how close I got to him with the camera on auto focus when I got the prints out he seemed miles away. Same when I triedc the manuel focus????

What I mean is: Why do portraits from before the creation of photography look so much better than the ones after? Bill Clinton’s portrait holds nothing to George III’s portrait.

Can anyone give me some hints or tips on techniques to use with kids to help them produce a painting in the style of Picasso or Braque? Preferably still lifes rather than portraits.

It’s a classic portrait of a gardian angel, guarding two children on a rickety bridge.

i’ve read numerous times to get the password u have to point the wand at the two kids near the portrait door. I’m using the wii game and the wand only seems to aim at the bookcase and the basket of umbrellas, not directly at the kids.. I’ve tried stupify on both of them but nothing happens what do i do?????

Why is portraiture such a compelling and significant genre of early photographic practice? Discuss the issue in terms of the “honorific” or “repressive” problematics, explaining what this means.

I have done some portrait photography…children, family ect. Don’t have any lights yet, so I was thinking of buying a couple inexpensive lights with umbrellas….should I get the strobe lights or continuous lighting?

I have seen many family portraits with dead family members (mostly children). I can’t find anything about it on the internet so I was hoping someone might know.

Is is appropriate to use family portraits or pictures of the kids on the walls in the bathroom? I wasnt sure if there was some kind of “rule” against this. When i think about it, i cant think of anyone with pictures in their bathroom so i figured id ask. thanks for your time.

I am an amateur photographer and find it impossible to get the attention of young children whilst trying to take a photo. I think this is an amazing talent. It requires the ability to captivate their attention whilst also getting the them to smile and having the precise timing to capture “the moment”.
Tips are welcome. All the portrait types that i have tried end up with the children distracted and looking “off shot”. Do i have to wear some silly costume with bells and whistles just to get them to look. Magicians answers welcome

I am trying to figure out how you break into photojournalism and wedding photography in NYC. I am also trying to figure out how you begin to assist photographers there. rates and such are so different here (NC) and so is how you get the work. It seems impossible to get info from anyone and sometimes a gal just needs a little help. A little goes a long way and I am willing and able to put in whatever work I need once I can figure out how to begin.

My sister has three children: a girl, age 5; a boy, age 3; and a baby girl who will be about 4 months old at Christmastime. We are looking for somewhere that we might be able to find matching outfits for the kids for a sibling Christmas portrait. Preferably the girls’ outfits would match, and the boy’s outfit would be coordinating somehow. We don’t have a lot of money to put into this, so if you know of anywhere fairly inexpensive where outfits like this could be found, please let me know. Thanks!

I am looking into taking a photography course and hope to eventually open my own studio mainly dealing with babies,maternity, family and children. If anyone has any suggestions or advice, I WELCOME IT!!!
